The first night on the road, a Christian couple shared their beach house with us. We enjoyed our time on the beach and even built a fire and shared with the Filipinos how to roast marshmallows. The second night we were on another beach and slept in tents, on the beach! Wow!! What enjoyable experiences!
While visiting with the workers of the tutorials and some of the preachers, we also witnessed some of their livelihood projects used to help support their families, the work of the church and the tutorials. Some were raising goats, one was raising mushrooms. In other areas there are some that raise worms, make soap, etc. There is still much work to be done in this area to help the local people be able to generate funds to support these ministry programs. We all have been amazed to be in the presence of Jun during this week. He is an amazing man and indeed a servant of the King of Kings.
We returned home with spinning heads ready to continue our works with the “Missing Link Kits”. We have set up one of our rooms in the condo as our “office”. We have two computers, two printers, two book binders, one laminator, etc. to help expedite the making of all the booklets and materials for the kits. So, every free day that we have when we are not going around visiting the tutorials, etc., we are here at the condo making the things to go into the “kits” that we will distribute later in February.
Matthew left us early on Sat. morning to return to the US. His time was limited here because of his job back home. Also this week, we visited with the Sta. Lucia tutorial. The teacher of this tutorial was in my seminar last year and has obeyed the Gospel. Both she and her husband along with one of their children became Christians and were immediately interested in handling a tutorial at the congregation where they attend. It was so touching to see her interact with the children during our visit there….we could just feel the love between her and her students! It so humbles me each time I witness a true work of God. He indeed can touch and change the hearts of people and use them for His purposes and for His glory. This indeed is one of those times. Need to go! Until later…Prissy
