Upon arriving in Manila, I passed through immigration, then sat on my cart watching all the luggage come around on the conveyer belt and all the passengers picking up their bags. After all the bags were claimed, I still sat there. Guess what!!! Yes, you guessed right. My bags did not come on the same plane that I was on. So I had to fill out the forms and etc…..hoping they would appear before too long. Glad what I was wearing was wash and wear because that is exactly what I did for two days….wash then wear it again!!
From the airport I preceeded to the place where we were to stay and met with the landlord. After the paperwork, we all went to the grocery store to stock the cabinets and refrigerator. For the next several days we were busy getting supplies, exchanging money, troubleshooting cell phones and numbers, servicing and setting up the printers, laminating machine, and book binder. I had almost forgotten how long it takes to get anything done here. Everything is involved and slow………….Nevertheless, we have accomplished a great deal.
Sunday we worshipped with the Sta. Lucia congregation. They are hosts of one of the Missing Link Children’s Tutorial centers, so we will return there sometime during the week to be able to interact with the children.
Later we shared a meal with Aldous and Faith and were grateful for their hospitality. Several hours later we met up with Jun, Choa, and several of the young people from their congregaiton. We had a great deal of scheduling to do and Jun is always instrumental in helping us to get that done. Needless to say, we dropped in bed once we returned home.
Yesterday, we went to the “Friendly Children’s tutorial”. The girls worked with the children. I walked a little ways down the street and met with one of the mothers of one of the students for a Bible study. She was very grateful for learning more of God’s Word and is now challenged to turn her life over to the Lord and follow His plan for her life. Please pray that she will soon make that life-changing decision to become a child of God.
Today I have been at the condo all day. We have turned one of the rooms into our “office”. We have the computers, printers, office machines, etc. all set up here to do the work in preparing the materials for the “Missing Link Kits.” Amelia and I have kept things operational here while the other girls were having Bible studies in Balubad.
It is great to be back here. We are excited for the days and weeks to come. We pray that God will use us as His vessels and that through our lives much glory will be brought to Him. We are indebted to all those who have joined hands with us as our financial partners and our prayer partners. Indeed, we could not do what we are doing, if these special people were not doing what they are doing to help with all that is set before us. May God be in control of ALL things at ALL times in ALL our lives.
